Who We Are

Ava Whetstone-Magee, founder of Avalanche Equestrian, has always dreamed of owning her own equestrian clothing brand. That dream began one unforgettable night when she was stuck knee-deep in mud with her horse Toby, in pitch darkness, with only the reflective stripe on his rug visible as her mum searched with a torch.

That moment sparked the idea to create equestrian clothing that is stylish, practical, and safe. From this came the SeeMe Range, followed by the innovative Yard Range the first clothing on the market to be hay-proof, woodflour-proof, and hair-proof. Allergic to hay herself, Ava spent 12 months testing solutions before launching the range, setting a new standard in equestrian wear.

“Avalanche Equestrian is incredibly personal to me,” says Ava. “The brand started because of Toby my horse he is the reason for its success. I sadly lost him to cancer on the 16th of November 2021. The very next day, we received confirmation of our shop in Midsummer Place, Milton Keynes the first equestrian brand in a shopping mall. I felt like Toby was telling me not to give up.”

Since the pop-up shop, Avalanche has grown rapidly through hard work, determination, and support. Ava started the brand at just 14 years old, sketching her ideas, and now attends the biggest equestrian events across the UK, showcasing clothing designed with purpose not fast fashion. Alongside Avalanche, she has developed other successful brands and continues to innovate for the equestrian community.

Be you. Follow your dreams.

Fun fact: The name Avalanche comes from Ava’s name and the sound of galloping horses.
